There's powerful antioxidants in plant materials
The main antioxidants, such as selenium, and the vitamins A, C and E were assumed to be the main weapons with which our bodies fight ‘free radicals’. New research has shown there to be equally powerful antioxidants in plant materials such as grapeseed, green tea and rosemary and these are combined in Betasec™. We’ve combined effective levels of the standard antioxidant nutrients, plus some of the best sources of natural plant antioxidants, all presented in a concentrated extract form.
It is now well recognised that essential dietary micro-nutrients, including specific vitamins and trace elements, are vital for the support of the body's protective antioxidant systems. These systems defend the body against attack from harmful free radicals that are thought to be central to the development of a variety of degenerative illnesses. Over the last few years, researchers have turned their attention towards the health-protective, non-essential plant anti-oxidants which include materials such as flavonoids and other plant polyphenolic materials from dietary sources such as grape seed, green tea and rosemary alongside herbs including Ginkgo Biloba. This group, although not currently classified as vitamins, are now regarded as the new emerging class of potent anti-oxidants. Additional supplies of anti-oxidants are often recommended as an 'insurance' measure for some patients or as a supplement for those with increased anti-oxidant requirements.
