Help offset the damaging effects of stress!
This specialized formula helps offset the damaging effects of stress, allergies, chronic fatigue, asthma, arthritis and hypoglycemia, by providing a revolutionary formula of Adrenal Concentrate, Glycyrrhizinate, and Potassium to help feed your adrenal glands.
Glycyrrhizin is the ingredient that is removed from licorice—[DGL (deglycyrrhizinated licorice)]—that enables people to benefit from the ulcer-healing properties of licorice without worrying about the dangers of excess cortisone. Glycyrrhizin is also the active ingredient in licorice which mimics the effects of cortisone, and from which licorice’s beneficial effect is obtained.
Glycyrrhizin (and its “cousin,” Cortisone), however, are like two-edged swords. In small to moderate doses, they can be very beneficial. In excess, they can cause a number of adverse side effects, including water retention, elevated blood pressure, and loss of potassium. Taking potassium with glycyrrhizin also, can prevent a raise in blood pressure.
Consequently, it is very important to use the minimum effective dosage of glycyrrhizin, and to use it intermittently as needed (usually, for no more than 6-8 weeks at a time). Periods of use of glycyrrhizin should be interrupted by two to three weeks of non-use. Many people find that taking 25-100 mg/day of glycyrrhizin provides significant relief of symptoms of chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, and other conditions that are related to “adrenal exhaustion” or adrenal maladaptation syndrome.
Researchers at Frankfurt University Medical School in Germany have discovered that Glycyrrhizin, a compound found in licorice, may be more effective than current treatments for SARS. Researchers compared glycyrrhizin to four other compounds, including ribavirin (a drug used to treat SARS), on two samples of the coronavirus thought to cause the disease. Out of all the compounds tested, glycyrrhizin was the most powerful antiviral. The licorice-derived substance inhibited the replication of the virus as well as the absorption and penetration of the virus. Glycyrrhizin has already been used to benefit patients with other viral diseases such as HIV and hepatitis C.
CortiTrophin is a combination of adrenal concentrate, glycyrrhizinate & potassium. Taking a small amount of CortiTrophin 25-100 mgs/day can be beneficial in treating symptoms of adrenal exhaustion and can provide significant relief from the symptoms of chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia.
Dosage:
One to two capsules in the morning as needed. To best mimic the bodys own physiology, CortiTrophin should be taken on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning. If a second dose is required, it should be taken before lunch.
Caution:
Not for pregnant women or nursing mothers. Do not use this formula if you suffer from hypertension, heart, liver or kidney disease. Since CortiTrophin mimics the action of cortisol, one should be very judicious in using it. It should only be used intermittently and if any adverse effects occur, such as water retention or elevated blood pressure, use should be discontinued immediately.
