Silymarin & Cynarin
This high potency herbal formula is made with guaranteed standardised extracts of Milk Thistle (80% Silymarin) and Artichoke Leaf (2.5% Cynarin), plus concentrated extracts of the complimentary herbs, Schizandra and Echinacea.
Silymarin is a flavonoid found in the herb milk thistle. Silymarin is a powerful antioxidant said to protect liver cells (and other cells in the body and brain) from toxins. Sylimarin apparently promotes liver cell protein synthesis and decreases the oxidation of glutathione. Milk thistle or silymarin may potentially be beneficial in a number of diseases involving liver disease, if in the early stages.
Ongoing research seems to indicate that artichoke does indeed have medicinal qualities. Most significant appears to be its beneficial effect on the liver. In animal studies, liquid extracts of the roots and leaves of artichoke have demonstrated an ability to protect the liver, and possibly even to help liver cells regenerate.
Recpmmended dosage: Adults and children over 15 take 1-2 capsules a day.
